Luna City Express - Rough Neck (Moon Harbour 042)

2009 will be the year for Luna City Express. Since quite a time Berlin-based Norman Weber and Marco Resmann bring fresh breezes into the international house scene again and again ? with their EPs and DJ-Gigs. Thoroughly honest house tracks, always with a winking easiness, are their trademark. This year their first album is coming and »Rough Neck« gives the first taste. The track catches with its continuous tension, always nearly bursting - for the whole duration of the track. The percussive rhythms, a short chord together with the funk bassline and some vocal samples interspersed ? all this is inevitably pulling the listener.

Brothers? Vibe, the hero of house, now finally getting the legitimate success for his music, intensifies »Rough Neck« into a pushing though deep house track with a classic US influence. At the same time he?s picking up the tension forced already by Luna City Express.

Also Moon Harbour boss Matthias Tanzmann interpretes »Rough Neck« in a new way while emphasizing the percussive character of the track even stronger. Garnished with extra sounds the piece gets a completely new drive without losing the original out of sight.
